UK agency uncovers an international network of drug-facilitated rape

# The National Crime Agency in the UK is warning that drug-facilitated sexual assault is no longer an isolated behaviour and is increasingly organised. The agency has uncovered an international network of organised drug-facilitated sexual assault, in which victims are sedated before being raped and sexually assaulted. Since October last year, the NCA has identified 270 people linked to forums where footage of coordinated sexual abuse is shared online. At least eight people have been arrested in the UK. NCA’s Nigel Leary says online platforms are enabling and supporting direct offending.
