Solidarity Movement says vigilantism and the scapegoating of foreign nationals will only deepen SA’s crisis

# The Solidarity Movement says it supports firm and lawful immigration enforcement, but rejects intimidation and violence as substitutes for the rule of law. Anti-illegal immigration groups are preparing for nationwide protests today, demanding tougher action against illegal immigration. The Solidarity Movement says while it recognises the legitimate frustration over illegal immigration, crime and state failure, it warns that vigilantism, intimidation and the scapegoating of foreign nationals will only deepen South Africa’s crisis. It adds that frustration should be directed at the policy failures that created the crisis, not at vulnerable people.
