# The South African National Roads Agency has officially begun construction on a six-billion-rand upgrade of the N3 between Mariannhill Toll Plaza and Key Ridge in KwaZulu-Natal. The 11.1-kilometre project will take about 60 months to complete and includes widening of carriageways, bridge construction, drainage improvements and new safety infrastructure. SANRAL warns motorists to expect significant delays and reduced speed limits of between 40 and 60 kilometres per hour throughout the construction period on this key transport corridor.
