# Electricity and Energy deputy minister, Samantha Graham-Maré, says electricity has been fully restored in Ceres and the Witzenberg area after severe storm damage in May. Winds of up to 160-kilometres-an-hour destroyed twelve 132-kilovolt pylons, disrupting Eskom’s network. Graham-Maré thanked residents for their patience and praised Eskom teams, local businesses, farmers and government partners for supporting restoration efforts. She also announced plans to strengthen future collaboration and emergency response:
