# The Special Investigating Unit has secured a Special Tribunal order directing the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee and several associated parties to repay nearly 25-million-rand unlawfully diverted from a National Lotteries Commission grant. The tribunal found the funding process was tainted by misrepresentation, maladministration and unlawful enrichment. The money, intended for a 2016 Rio Olympics roadshow campaign, was instead diverted to entities linked to former NLC officials. The SIU says criminal evidence will now be referred to the National Prosecuting Authority.
