Soccer: Frenchman Fernando da Cruz is Kaizer Chiefs’ new head coach

# Soccer: Kaizer Chiefs has appointed Fernando da Cruz as the new head coach on a two-year contract with a one-year option, effective 1 July. The 54-year-old French-born succeeds co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef, who left the club at the end of the season. He worked briefly with Amakhosi during pre-season two years ago before joining the Moroccan Football Federation, where he served as Technical Director. His assistant coach will be 35-year-old Egyptian Mahmoud Abbas. The squad returns to training today.
