# The City of Tshwane says it is working to address past underinvestment at the Tshwane Fresh Produce Market, and to enable farmers and traders to work in a safe, clean and efficient space. In August, a court ordered the metro to ensure the market is fire and smoke detection compliant, and purchase generators and evaporator coils. The metro’s spokesperson, Mark Rountree, says maintenance expenditure at the Tshwane Market was increased by more than 50-percent to 33.1-million-rand for the year ending June 2025:
