# Today marks the end of the National Burns Awareness Week, which was observed under the theme, Protect, Prevent, Heal. The campaign focused on educating the public about the dangers of unsafe heating practices and promoting preventative and responsive actions to reduce burn injuries. The Gauteng Health Department’s spokesperson, Motalatale Modiba, says one-thousand-296 children were admitted to hospitals and clinics for burn injuries between May and July last year across the province:
