# Western Cape police have dismissed claims that the killing of 19-year-old Nhlamulo Sambo, originally from Giyani in Limpopo, was linked to anti-illegal immigration protests in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. His mother, Patricia Sambo, took to social media alleging that her son had been murdered during the weekend riots in Mossel Bay, because he spoke Xitsonga. Western Cape Police Commissioner, Thembisile Patekile, says Sambo was confronted while allegedly attempting to steal items from a shack, resulting in the owner subsequently chasing him and stabbing him to death.
