Western Cape launches a digital computerised learner’s licence testing system

# The Western Cape Government has launched a digital computerised learner’s licence testing system at Beaufort West. The system aims to modernise driver testing and improve road safety. Replacing manual tests, the touchscreen system will also reduce corruption, promote fairness, and include accessibility features for people with disabilities. Linked to the National Traffic Information System, it uses fingerprint-secured terminals and randomised questions. Mobility MEC Isaac Sileku says the rollout of the system is underway across the province.
