# The Western Cape government is strengthening support for Theewaterskloof Municipality to improve governance, water security and basic services. More than 31-million-rand was allocated for infrastructure projects in the 2025/2026 financial year, with 96-percent already spent. Additional funding is also being provided for water, waste management and electricity projects. Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning MEC Anton Bredell says the aim is to improve basic services, strengthen the municipality’s capacity and restore public confidence.
