# In commemoration of World Suicide Prevention Day, The UnLearning Children Foundation will host a candle lighting ceremony on Johannesburg’s Nelson Mandela Bridge this evening. According to the World Health Organisation, suicide is a major public health challenge, claiming the lives of more than 720-thousand people every year. The foundation’s chairperson, Zanele Njapha, says the event will honour lives lost to suicide and raise awareness of suicide prevention:
