UDM says 70 years of the Freedom Charter is a moment of recommitment

# The United Democratic Movement says the 70th anniversary of the Freedom Charter marks a moment of reflection and recommitment. Adopted in Kliptown in 1955, the Charter embodied the hopes of a people under siege. UDM leader Bantu Holomisa says the Charter’s ideals have since been betrayed by corruption, failed leadership, and a government disconnected from the people. He calls for ethical, people-driven leadership and renewed dedication to building the just, equal South Africa envisioned by the Charter.
