# The City of Tshwane has reopened the Akasia and Centurion municipal weighbridges, after more than a decade of complete inactivity. Mayoral committee member for Community Safety, Hannes Coetzee, says these weighbridges are a vital tool in restoring order and accountability on the metro’s major freight and transport routes. He adds that this is also a major step forward for road safety, law enforcement, and service delivery in Tshwane:
