Tshwane revises schedule for rudimentary water services in informal settlements

# The City of Tshwane’s Human Settlements Department has resolved to reduce the number of days mobile water tankers provide services to 168 identified informal settlements from seven days to four days per week. This is due to financial and budgetary considerations for the 2025/2026 financial year. Mayoral committee member for Housing and Human Settlements, Aaron Maluleka, says water distribution in informal settlements by 98 service providers operating 279 mobile water tankers will now be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays until further notice.
