Tshwane receives thousands of disputes over property valuation roll

# The City of Tshwane has received up to four-thousand disputes regarding its recently published property valuation roll. Many residents are claiming that their homes are overvalued. There are fears that this could lead to higher rates, though the draft budget proposes a four-percent decrease in property rates. Mayor Nasiphi Moya says rising property values are a positive thing, and the metro aims to cushion the impact. Residents have until May 2nd to lodge disputes.
