# The Tshwane Metro Police says it has been continuously conducting drunk driving operations mainly to reduce road fatalities, and to promote education and awareness regarding the dangers of driving while intoxicated. Since the beginning of this month, more than 200 drunk drivers have been arrested in operations that were conducted throughout the metro. This weekend alone, 64 drunk drivers were arrested in various locations. TMPD says it is promoting a zero-tolerance approach to driving while intoxicated.
