# The Tshwane Metro Police Department has launched an internal investigation into allegations that its members accepted a bribe from one of six undocumented immigrants, who were arrested during a recent operation in Winterveldt. TMPD says preliminary findings show that one-thousand-rand was voluntarily handed over to officers for safekeeping and was properly recorded in official police registers. It says that at this time, no evidence supports claims of unlawful conduct, adding that the video was misinterpreted and conveyed a false message.
