Tshwane Metro Police deployed to curb cable theft in Moot

# The City of Tshwane has deployed metro police to patrol Pretoria’s Moot area amid rising cable theft, which is causing prolonged power outages. The latest incident in Moregloed left residents without electricity for over ten days. Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says law enforcement will monitor hotspot areas, while efforts to prevent vandalism continue. Ward councillor Anru Meyer has recommended replacing copper cables with aluminium to deter theft and safeguard infrastructure in the long term.
