# The City of Tshwane has established a new rapid response task team to tackle gender-based violence and femicide. The team, which includes local government, law enforcement, health, social services, and non-governmental organisations. This comes as South Africa’s fight against the scourge intensifies as the implementation of the National Strategic Plan is prioritised. Community and Social Development Services’ Palesa Modise says the task team aims to provide immediate support, coordinate efforts, and enhance community awareness to combat gender-base violence.
