# The City of Tshwane says it is continuing to prioritise water restoration in Mamelodi and surrounding areas, following vandalism and theft at the Mamelodi R3 Reservoir over the weekend. The incident damaged the pressure-reducing valve sensing lines, resulting in the reservoir overflowing and subsequently running critically low. The metro’s spokesperson, Lindela Mashigo, says technical teams are manually operating the system as an interim measure, while permanent repairs are being arranged:
