# The City of Tshwane says its artisan training programme will continue to be a cornerstone of the commitment to developing a skilled, empowered workforce that will shape the future of the metro. Each year, 120 apprentices are recruited and trained in vital trades such as boiler making, welding, car mechanics, electrical, and plumbing. Mayoral committee member for Corporate and Shared Services, Kholofelo Morodi, says currently, Tshwane has 320 apprentices in the system, with 155 of them being women:
