Tshwane appeals to residents to refrain from illegally occupying abandoned buildings

City of Tshwane’s mayoral committee member for Human Settlements, Aaron Maluleka, has appealed to residents to refrain from illegally occupying abandoned buildings and land. He met with the leadership of the Central Hostel in Block H, Soshanguve yesterday, to discuss the housing challenges affecting residents occupying the facility and to outline the metro’s proposed interventions. The building was previously used as a school. Maluleka warns that the illegal occupation of buildings undermines planned human settlements programmes.
