# The National Treasury has extended the public comment period for the draft General Public Procurement Regulations 2026, to 15 July. The regulations were published for comment in April to support the implementation of the Public Procurement Act of 2024. Treasury says the extension follows requests from stakeholders and recognises the complexity of the proposed regulations. The Act, signed into law by president Cyril Ramaphosa, aims to establish a single framework for public procurement. Treasury has encouraged the public to use the additional time to provide input.
