Traffic Service’s Highway Patrol Unit responded to 67% of incidents on Cape Town highways [SOUND]

# Over 12 months between July 2024 and June 2025, the City of Cape Town’s Traffic Service responded to five-thousand-392 incidents on the highways. Half of the incidents were stationary vehicles, just over 30-percent were crashes involving vehicles, pedestrians and animals, and the rest were a combination of incidents, including protest action, crime, fires, and flooding.
