# The Western Cape government says its Thusong outreach programme delivered more than four-thousand-400 government services to two-thousand-349 residents during outreach events in George, Murraysburg and Stellenbosch in June and July. Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning MEC Anton Bredell says the programme brings services such as identity card applications, social grants, healthcare and job support closer to communities, especially in rural areas. Bredell added the initiative helps residents save time and travel costs while improving access to essential government services.
