# Tennis: World number one Jannik Sinner confirmed yesterday he will not compete in the US Open, the final Grand Slam of the season, because of a right knee injury. He said he had been back on court in Monte Carlo over the last couple of days and have realised that he still needed more time to recover from his injury. Meanwhile, former world number four, Holger Rune, sidelined since October by an Achilles tendon injury, has also announced his withdrawal from the US Open.
