Temba water treatment plant remains out of commission after sewer discharge contaminate Apies River

# The Tshwane metro says the Temba water treatment plant remains out of commission after a sewer discharge contaminated the Apies River. This river feeds the Leeukraal Dam, which is the plant’s main water source. Affected areas include Dilopye, Renstown, Hammanskraal West, Suurman, and Refentse. City spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says roaming water tankers are supplying affected communities. The plant will only resume normal operations once raw water quality improves, as current conditions make the water unsafe for treatment and distribution.
