# The 2022 South African Public Relationship with Science survey has revealed that 66-percent of the public are highly interested in science and technology. The survey’s findings discussed at a conference in Boksburg, highlighted public confidence in universities at 71-percent and scientists’ contributions to society 76-percent. The survey also found that transparency and engagement with science need improvement, with 51-percent believing scientists are honest about their work.
