# Businesses in Tshwane’s Sunnyside area have been fined a total of 80-thousand-rand during the City’s Reclaim Our City campaign. Led by the mayoral executive and the Metro Police Department, the operation uncovered illegal businesses, poor hygiene, and unsafe buildings. Fines were issued under various laws, including the Fire Safety By-law and Foodstuffs Act. Similar operations in Bronkhorstspruit, Centurion, and Region 6 led to additional fines. Some non-compliant businesses were also shut down in the process.
