Soweto residents vow to stay in occupied school until government provides alternative housing [SOUND]

# The Gauteng Department of Education’s spokesperson, Steve Mabona says the department wants the building back, where illegal residents have occupied an abandoned school in Diepkloof, Soweto. He says they are pressured and cannot afford to have a school being used for something else when it’s zoned for education. Mabona says they are working with the City of Johannesburg to find alternative accommodation. Residents say they never intended to stay permanently but need proper housing:
