Soil of Africa launches national tour to assist citizens with blocked IDs [SOUND]

# The Soil of Africa Civic Movement has launched a nationwide tour to address the crisis of blocked identity documents, particularly among marginalised and rural communities. The Department of Home Affairs has been blocking IDs for several reasons, including those documents the biometric system has flagged as duplicates, held by illegal immigrants, or because the ID holder had died. The Movement’s spokesperson, Bongani Ramontja, says they have submitted over 50 cases of wrongfully blocked IDs:
