# Civic movement Soil of Africa has condemned a corporal punishment incident at Soshanguve South Secondary School. A video, which has gone viral, shows two people using sjamboks to beat pupils standing in line at the school for apparently arriving late. According to reports, community members overpowered scholar patrollers and unlawfully entered the school premises, before assaulting pupils. Soil of Africa chairperson, Bongani Ramotja, says this barbaric act is a stark reminder of the pervasive culture of violence in some Tshwane schools:
