# The Soil of Africa Movement has condemned the inaction of law enforcement, the negligence of the City of Tshwane, and the silence of political leadership in the face of escalating violence against women in Mamelodi. Movement chairperson, Bongani Ramontja, says that recently, a young woman from Mamelodi East extension 16 was raped by a man from the same street. He says there are no functional surveillance cameras, no visible police patrols, and no ward-based safety wardens protecting communities:
