# Social Development minister Sisisi Tolashe has reaffirmed her department’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and sound financial management. The overall audit outcome of the department for 2024/2025 is a qualified audit opinion with findings, while the South African Social Security Agency received an unqualified audit opinion. Appearing before Parliament’s portfolio committee on Social Development, Tolashe highlighted the significant expansion of the social assistance programme, which reached over 28-million eligible individuals during the year under review. She adds that they remain focused on tackling child and adult poverty.
