# SECTION27, representing Cancer Alliance, has expressed disappointment at the Gauteng Department of Health’s appeal to the recent judgment in the case for radiation oncology treatment. In August, the Gauteng High Court declared the department’s failure to provide radiation oncology services to cancer patients unconstitutional and ordered it to address the backlog list. Cancer Alliance’s Salome Meyer says the appeal is yet another attempt by the department to delay providing treatment despite receiving 784-million-rand to address the backlog:
