SASSA to customise library space to become its Khayelitsha office

# The South African Social Security Agency says it is working with the City of Cape Town to customise space in the Kuyasa Library building to be its Khayelitsha office. This is because the agency has been struggling to find a permanent location since 2022. SASSA has 16 Western Cape offices, and the Khayelitsha office is particularly busy, serving approximately 520 people a day. The agency’s provincial spokesperson, Shivani Wahab, says a store space at the Ilitha Park Mall was identified as a potential option, but the costs were exorbitant.
