SAHPRA reassures paracetamol is safe in pregnancy at recommended doses

# The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority says paracetamol is safe for use during pregnancy when taken at recommended doses for short periods. The authority reassures pregnant women that there is no evidence linking paracetamol to autism or ADHD in children. SAHPRA spokesperson Yuven Gounden advises using the lowest effective dose for the shortest time, consulting a doctor if needed, and reporting any suspected side effects to the regulator.
