# The South African Federation of Trade Unions says it supports the government’s stronger action against employers who exploit undocumented workers. President Cyril Ramaphosa has warned that harsher penalties, including jail terms, will be imposed for employers who hire undocumented migrants. Saftu’s Asive Dyani says just as employers who exploit undocumented workers must face prosecution, so too must corrupt Home Affairs officials, labour brokers who facilitate exploitation, and criminal syndicates and vigilante groups that assault people under the guise of enforcing immigration laws:
