# The South African Communist Party has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of anti-apartheid activist, Tshenuwani Farisani, a revered theologian who died at 76 after an illness. SACP general-secretary Solly Mapaila hailed Farisani as a servant of the people, recognising his unwavering commitment to liberation theology and social justice. He said that Farisani’s legacy includes his significant contributions to South Africa’s struggle for freedom:
