# Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo foreign ministers are expected to sign a historic peace treaty in Washington today, witnessed by US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. The agreement, brokered by Qatar and the US, includes joint security coordination, disarmament of armed groups, and refugee return. Technical teams signed the draft on 18 June. Implementation and compliance remain key to lasting peace. The agreement has however come under scrutiny for its vagueness including on the economic component.
