# Road Traffic Management Corporation CEO Advocate Makhosini Msibi says bribery of officers by drivers is rising, especially among those arrested for drunk driving. Briefing Parliament, he warned that the belief drivers can buy their way out is fuelling this trend. Msibi said pedestrian behaviour, speeding, and drunk driving remain key causes of road deaths, with pedestrians accounting for 41-percent of annual fatalities. He called for urgent action to address these issues and improve road safety.
