Record voter turnout for TUT’s 2025 SRC elections

# The Tshwane University of Technology’s 2025 Student Representative Council elections recorded an unprecedented 57-percent voter participation, the highest turnout since the university’s establishment. Preliminary results show the EFF Student Command emerging as the leading formation across several campuses. It secured 34.35-percent of the total vote, followed closely by the South African Student Congress with 28.79-percent, with the uMkhonto Wesizwe Students Movement in third with 19.67-percent. TUT says the historic voter turnout reflects a growing culture of student involvement in shaping governance and representation across campuses.
