# The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and the Uitenhage District Taxi Association have agreed to rebuild two bridges that collapsed during the June 2024 floods. After extensive meetings with stakeholders, National Treasury has approved 89-million-rand in funding. A large portion will go towards road repairs and maintenance. UDTA chairperson, Mbuyiseli Mfengu, told the SABC, that the collaboration between the municipality and the taxi industry marks a key step in restoring critical infrastructure:
