PSA urges Social Development Department to address critical SASSA staff shortage [SOUND]

# The Public Servants Association says reports that the South African Social Security Agency is suffering from a 62-percent-vacancy rate are concerning. SASSA confirmed that it is facing a critical staff shortage, with less than 50-percent of permanent positions filled in local offices. PSA’s Claude Naiker says this staff shortage is impacting the provision of professional service delivery. He adds that the Department of Social Development must prioritise adequate resources to SASSA to fill all funded positions:
