# The Public Servants Association has condemned the alarming rise in cases of sexual abuse of learners by teachers. According to the PSA, a total of 111 cases were recorded in the 2024/2025 period, a 35-percent increase from the previous year. The association’s Claude Naiker says current measures are failing to protect learners and is calling for stricter vetting, mandatory abuse reporting, and better training for school staff.
