PSA criticises Health department over community health worker appointments [SOUND]

# The Public Servants Association criticised the Department of Health after the acting Director-General instructed provinces not to appoint Community Health Workers without Grade 12. The union’s Claude Naicker says the move undermines ongoing discussions at the bargaining council and unfairly excludes experienced workers, many of whom served communities as volunteers. Naicker called on the Minister of Health to intervene and ensure fair treatment and proper absorption of affected workers:
