Police say Gauteng has made progress in the fight against crime [SOUND]

# Gauteng provincial police commissioner, Tommy Mthombeni says the province has made progress in the fight against crime by recording a 7.9-percent decrease from January until March this year. He was briefing the provincial legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Community Safety on the fourth quarter of the 2024/2025 financial year in Johannesburg. Mthombeni says this decrease is a positive step even though, Gauteng still contributed 26.2-percent to overall national crime:
