Police report breakthrough as more than a thousand suspects arrested in Free State blitz

# Operation Shanela II has led to the arrest of one-thousand-115 suspects across the Free State in a week-long, high-density police crackdown. All five districts participated in the multi-disciplinary operation, supported by intelligence-led information. Arrests included 349 for assault, 47 for attempted murder, nine for robbery, and six for murder, alongside drug and property-related offences. Spokesperson Thabo Covane says police also recovered illegal firearms and detained wanted suspects. He says the operation highlights ongoing efforts to combat crime and improve safety.
