# The People’s Movement for Change says ahead of the local government elections, it will put forward community-rooted candidates. The party contested its first municipal election in Theewaterskloof, Western Cape, in February 2024, finishing sixth out of six parties, with two-percent of the vote. The party’s spokesperson, Grant Harmse, says their 2026 local government elections campaign is both practical and measured:
